Seems like I just missed the formal announcement of the Scottish referendum bill. Going on holiday certainly leaves you out of the loop.
As a plus, Salmond has spoken out in favour of same-sex marriage. This suits me just fine. The sooner people in Scotland can marry regardless of their gender the better. Of course, it remains to be seen whether marriage equality stands a better chance in an independent Scotland than as part of the UK. There will probably be proportinally as much resistance from within Scotland as there will be from with the UK.
And continuing my obsession with oil and gas, an oil field off of Shetland will receive a £4-billion investment. This is will be a major boon to the region, as well as suggesting a positive outlook for Scotland’s oil and gas industry.
That seems all that’s worth pointing out just now. Hopefully, I didn’t miss anything too important.
